Mepco vacuum pump units are designed for vacuum systems to collect return condensate from the steam system and return it to the boiler in some cases via a boiler feed pump unit. As condensate flows generally under vacuum to the receiver tank, the receiver fills with water. The float switch assembly then rises and signals the motor on the pump to start and begin pumping the condensate until the float drops with the lower water level and breaks the contact on the switch to shut the pump off. The independent hurling or air chamber is always controlled by the a float control on the condensate portion and the vacuum demand switch for the air seperation portion. Mepco vacuum pumps are made in simplex (one pump) or duplex (two pumps). Duplex units are supplied with a mechanical alternator in place of the simplex float switch. Tank receivers are 3/16" gauge steel, the pumps are bronze fitted and run at 3450 RPM.
