Hoffman inverted bucket traps are a simple leverage system that uses the weight of the bucket to open the valve against pressure. The inverted bucket has only two moving parts which means no complicated linkages to bind or clog. The inverted bucket trap is rated excellent on the following: resistance to wear, corrosion, and hydronic shock. Operation against back pressure, ability to purge air, and handle dirt, and performance under light loads. The Hoffman float and thermostatic trap is better suited to vent air at low pressures. The Hoffman horizontal line inverted trap allows condensate and steam to enter from one side of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the opposite side of the trap. The Hoffman "B" series offers four variations to its trap: The manufactuers model number ending with the suffix "A" is a standard bucket, no built-in strainer, no thermic vent, the suffix "S" indictates built-in strainer, the suffix "T" indicates thermic bucket, and the suffix "B" has both thermic bucket and built-in strainer. The 3/4" "B2" series cast iron trap has a maximum operating pressure of 250 psi and comes standard with all stainless steel internal components. The B2's have a inlet to outlet dimension of 7", a height of 8-13/16" and a weight of 12-1/2lbs.
