Mepco float and thermostatic traps are recommended for: modulating pressures where widlely varying loads are present, and pressures vary from maximum to vacuum. They are a good choice for their ability to vent air at very low pressures, handle start up air loads, and operate against back pressure. The float & thermostatic trap is not a good choice for : resistance to hydraulic shock, damage from freezing, and ability to handle dirt. The Mepco 44 series Float & thermostatic trap is a "H" pattern which allows steam to enter from either side of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the opposite side or the same side of the trap. The 44 Series cast iron trap has a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi and comes standard with a stainless steel internal parts. The 44 Series are continuous drainage and are designed for low, medium, and high pressure steam mains. The 1-1/2" 44-715 has a inlet to outlet width of 5-3/8" for in and out opposite side,or, same side inlet to outlet center-to-center dimension of 3", a height of 5-3/4" and a weight of 17lbs.
