Overview
The Armstrong inverted bucket steam trap, model 214, features a 1" trap connection in an in-line vertical configuration. This configuration allows steam to enter from the bottom of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the top of the trap. Inverted bucket traps are a simple leverage system that uses the weight of the bucket to open the valve against pressure. Inverted bucket traps have a high resistance to wear, corrosion, and hydronic shock. The 214 is cast iron and has a 60 psi maximum operating pressure. This trap has a capacity for 6,800 pounds per hour. The traps are designed for service on heat exchange equipment where there is a need to vent air and non-condensable gases quickly. They are a good choice for their ability to purge air, handle dirt, performance under light loads and operate against back pressure. The 200 Series traps come standard with a heavy-duty stainless steel bucket and have the option of being furnished with a thermic vent bucket, for high capacity air discharge.
