Overview
The Armstrong inverted bucket steam trap, model 1811, features a 1/2" pipe connection in an in-line horizontal configuration. This configuration allows steam to enter from one side of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the other side of the trap. Inverted bucket traps are a simple leverage system that uses the weight of the bucket to open the valve against pressure. Inverted bucket traps have a high resistance to wear, corrosion, and hydronic shock. The 1811 is stainless steel and has a 200 psi maximum operating pressure. This trap has a capacity for 890 pounds per hour. The traps are designed for service on heat exchange equipment where there is a need to vent air and non-condensable gases quickly. They are a good choice for their ability to purge air, handle dirt, performance under light loads and operate against back pressure.
