Overview
The Armstrong inverted bucket steam trap, model 1013, features a 3/4" pipe connection in an in-line vertical configuration available in NPT and BSPT threaded or socketweld connections. This configuration provides quick, easy in-line installation. Inverted bucket traps are a simple leverage system that uses the weight of the bucket to open the valve against pressure. Inverted bucket traps have a high resistance to wear, corrosion, and hydronic shock. The 1013 is stainless steel and has an 80 psi maximum operating pressure. This trap has a capacity for 4,000 pounds per hour. The traps are designed for service on heat exchange equipment where there is a need to vent air and non-condensable gases quickly. They are a good choice for their ability to purge air, handle dirt, performance under light loads and operate against back pressure. The 2000 Series traps have the option of being furnished with a thermic vent bucket, for high capacity air discharge.
