The Illinois float and thermostatic (F&T) steam trap, model 7MG-50, features a 1" trap connection in an in-line horizontal configuration. This pattern allows steam to enter from one side of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the same side of the trap. G Series F&T traps utilize a standard upright brass bucket as the float mechanism. The traps are continuous drainage and are designed for low, medium, and high pressure steam mains and come standard with stainless steel internal parts. The 7MG-50 is cast iron and has a 50 psi maximum operating pressure. This trap has a capacity for 700 pounds per hour. The traps are designed for service on heat exchange equipment where there is a need to vent air and non-condensable gases quickly. They are recommended for modulating pressures where widely varying loads are present and are a good choice for their ability to vent air at very low pressures, handle start up air loads, and operate against back pressure.
