Overview
The Spirax-Sarco "D" pressure pilot, with a 3-20 pound pressure range, is for use in combination with "E" Series main valves. Pressure pilots open and close the main valve by sensing the flow of steam through them, controlled by a pressure spring. The pressure range of the pilot is adjustable within its presets by an adjustment nut on the top of the unit. The pilot has a downstream sensing line which tells the valve to put more pressure on the main valves diaphragm to open and allow more steam to pass. As the demand is met, the pilot relieves the pressure on the main valve diaphragm causing it to throttle to the closed position.
