The Watson McDaniels inverted bucket steam trap, model 1041, features a 1/2" trap connection in an in-line horizontal configuration. This configuration allows steam to enter from one side of the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the opposite side of the trap. Inverted bucket traps are a simple leverage system that uses the weight of the bucket to open the valve against pressure. Inverted bucket traps have a high resistance to wear, corrosion, and hydronic shock. The 1041 is cast iron and has a 125 psi maximum operating pressure. The traps are designed for service on heat exchange equipment where there is a need to vent air and non-condensable gases quickly. They are a good choice for their ability to purge air, handle dirt, performance under light loads and operate against back pressure.
